"Love supporting The Monster and the community but no one is exempt from feedback. Also, fully understand as a queer individual the beauty of a free pour, but when being told to “grow up” when you’re pouring over a 4 to 1 ratio, when asking for a double tall is wild. Also to be told, “Let me teach you something” when a bartender doesn’t know how to pour is hilarious, coming from someone who has worked in bars. Get it together girl!"

"My girlfriend and I come here often, and as part of the LGBTQ community, we always feel welcomed and celebrated. The vibe is inclusive, and the atmosphere feels like home. John and Nathan are always so kind and make absolutely amazing drinks. Highly recommend! 💚"

"I was here at the turn of the millennium, in 2001, and found this place to be the most melancholic yet cheerful, the most intelligent, intriguing, friendly, and wonderful hangout in Manhattan. I wonder if Robert, a regular, is still alive, and if the bald pianist whose name I can't remember still works here. Goodbye, Monster. You were very important to my stay there. Italy, here."

"I have lived in New York City for over 25 years and been to the monster a few times and had a good experience. I went to the monster tonight and ordered bottle service in a VIP section. The bottle was $250.00. I ordered two Red bulls on top of that plus the mixers. The mixers were free but the Red bulls were an extra charge which was fine. When I decided to close out... The bill was almost $400. I asked for a detailed receipt multiple times and was refused. I will never go back to this bar again because it's a scam. I don't mind paying for my tab if I order something but they claimed they could not print a detailed receipt and for sure overcharged me. It didn't make sense that they couldn't print it because he had a computer screen for me to pay the bill on the POS. They could have easily showed me something on the screen or at least provided some information for what the extra charge was for. Thought it may have been a service charge or tip but they told me no that's not included. Still dumbfounded and confused but wanted to share my experience. If you go to this place be very wary of your bill and watch it closely."

"We typically visit Monster Bar twice a year. Sometimes the cover charge at the door is $20. We have always been treated well. We patronize the piano bar on the main floor. We have had some memorable nights there. The singing (even among the amateurs) is usually of high quality. You can get up nice & close, it's a very intimate space. Patrons are generally very friendly & we have had some lively conversations. They are most certainly breeder friendly."
