"10s, 10s, 10s across the board! Wow was I impressed with this place! The minute you step into The Flatiron Room it feels like walking in the door of a 1930s jazz club in the most fabulous way! We came on Saturday because we wanted a jazz show. We got WAY more than we bargained for. The ambiance of the place was stellar. Everything from the caged bottles stacked all along the upper part of the wall, to the cozy booths and classic looking bar tucked off in the corner leaving room to see the stage. Next, the service - on point! Erin, our server, was top notch, helpful, always available, and uber friendly, but that’s also true of the rest of the staff we interacted with. The food - amazing! WAY better than any “dinner and a show” type places I’ve ever tried. Highly recommend the Yellow Fish appetizer. Also the cheese board is really well done, really enjoyed that. If you don’t order the sphere desert thing, you’re truly missing out on life (I’m not kidding)! But the stars of the night were the Brian Newman Quintet. Man, talk about an excellent exhibition of a unique twist on iconic jazz. They are an exceptionally talented group of (very good looking 😉) musicians who really put on a great show. You can find them there every Sat night from 9pm - 12am. It’s no wonder the place has a lot of repeaters, and what’s even more amazing is these guys actually take the time to remember your name! My husband and I were floored. We got a chance to exchange a few words with Brian and Tommy (the owner of this fine establishment) outside and I didn’t hesitate to tell them then that we would be back! Honestly the only thing missing for me and I’m super nitpicking is if there was a small dance area somewhere because honestly I kept fighting the urge to jiggle my body to the tunes 😆. I even forgive that I have to come to midtown for this place - I’ll suck it up to go there again. Anyway moral of this story - high class joint, high class meal, high class service, high class entertainment (for no added cost). Great night out, worth every penny!"

"I had such a great experience at this restaurant! The food was amazing – especially the steak, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The drinks were just as impressive, and paired really well with the meal. On top of that, the live music created such a fun and lively atmosphere. Overall, it’s the perfect spot for a night out with delicious food, great drinks, and entertainment all in one place. Highly recommend!"

"My husband and I went to The Flatiron Room Murray Hill for our anniversary, and let me start with the good: the live entertainment—Mariella Price and Eric Zolan were phenomenal. They had the whole room charmed with jazz/pop covers, solid sets, and audience requests. Honestly, they were the heartbeat of the night. Now for the food and cocktails…terrible. I ordered the chef’s tasting menu thinking, “This must be the showcase of the chef’s pride and joy.” Instead, it felt like Tuesday-night leftovers dressed up for company. • Amuse bouche: The coddled egg was rubbery and overcooked, overshadowing the trout roe. • The beet tart was pretty on the plate, but sweet beets atop a sweet pastry—no contrast, no spark. • The sushi was fine, but just that—fine. Fresh fish, zero magic. Temaki duo, no mucho. • The main course chicken tasted and looked like it came out of an Ikea food court. Don’t let the name fool you GOCHUJANG CHICKEN ROULADE - Bland, soulless, no chef’s kiss in sight. I’ve had microwave dinners more exotic and tasty. • Dessert, the panna cotta, tasted like it had been sitting in a hospital cafeteria fridge. Sticky, tough strawberry layer, flat panna cotta. Definitely not the delicate sweet ending I was hoping for. My husband ordered the NY strip steak which was cooked just right, however the chimichurri was overpowered with oregano which overwhelmed the steak. Cocktails were pretty to look at, but style over substance. The smoking old fashioned was all bitters, no balance. Smoke & mirrors. Credit where it’s due: Shells and bone were 🔥the escargot and bone marrow were rich, savory, and hit the mark. Afterward, we wandered to the NoMad location—where the staff was warm and inviting, and honestly the food coming out there looked like it had much more love and creativity than what we were served in Murray Hill. Bottom line: The music was the soul of Murray Hill. But the food and cocktails? Let’s just say they didn’t sing."

"We had such a great time at The Flatiron Room! The Chef’s Tasting Menu was amazing, every dish was so tasty and well done. The chef even came to our table, which was really nice and made the night feel special. The servers were super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were also great so refreshing and delicious! We also really enjoyed the live jazz music. Highly recommend this place!"
