"Outside of the overpriced drinks and the lack of providing merchant receipts with the return of your credit card, what really bothered me about this place was their water policy. The only way to acquire water here is to purchase it by the bottle for $7, even when directly asking the bartender for tap water. I understand that it’s legal in New York to not provide free tap water for customers, but it’s irresponsible and dangerous for an establishment serving alcohol to only make water available for such an inflated price. Although I don’t agree with this mentality, they should at least offer tap water at a lower price to reduce the risk of their customers drinking unsafely. And if the safety aspect of this isn’t enough to make the owners care, in theory, providing tap water for free or at a lower price may even help customers feel hydrated enough to continue drinking/purchasing alcohol. The only reason I didn’t give this place 1 star is because the atmosphere wasn’t unpleasant and the music was decent."

"We were disappointed that for our previous holiday party venue closed down but to our surprise Rumpus room pulled through for us. Great staff, dj, atmosphere. Shout out to Gabriel and the lovely bartender who made our experience extra special."

"I celebrated my 25th birthday at Rumpus Room and had an incredible experience. Music was super fun for dancing and knowing all the words, and the space was fantastic to move around and talk to different groups of people. The management and staff were a pleasure to work with and made the planning process extremely smooth. I would highly recommend this bar for a night out or event!"

"We had our daughter and friend’s Surprise 25th birthday party at Rumpus. The kids all seemed to have a great time! It was a great space for a fun party. Gabriel was really easy to work with, and really fair about a couple issues on our end at the party. I would highly recommend using the space. His staff were funny and kind! Thanks again to them all!"

"I had my birthday party here and this was the BEST venue. We had an incredible time and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. I loved how communicative the owner was with me before the party and everything was so easy. They made the entire event stress free and incredible fun!!! Definitely recommend."
