"I’ve been coming here for years and if you are nice to the staff you will love this place. You can tell they don’t have time for bs and have seen people treat the staff so bad so don’t blame them for not always taking it. Having said that they are always kind and want to make you feel at home. Drinks are reasonable for the area and the food is solid."

"The lady server with red hair was so rude, dismissive, and overall unpleasant. Rolling her eyes right in front of customers and clearly acting like she hates her job. Honestly laughable how much effort she put into being unpleasant. Disappointing for a neighborhood spot. The other male bartender was nice. Might be other people’s cup of tea, but never coming back. Trash."

"My wife and I stopped in for the first time on a beautiful Saturday afternoon after walking around Central Park. So pleased to find that these authentic Irish pubs still exist. We are New Yorkers, born and raised in Sunset Park/Bay Ridge Brooklyn, and we’ve been to many Irish pubs in the City. Malachy’s did not disappoint. Exactly what we look for in a real neighborhood Irish pub. Mary at the bar was friendly and welcoming. Many locals there and we had a great time chatting with a lovely and fascinating woman named Nancy. Excellent Guinness on tap. Many t.v.’s with all the games on. Great music, as well. We did not try the food, but we’ll be sure to do so on our next visit. So pleased to have found this place. We’ll be back!"
