"I called Duet 35 Karaoke at 1:42 AM to ask what time they close. I was told 3:00 AM. I also asked if there was a wait for a room and was told it was first come, first served. I arrived at 1:56 AM with a group of 10 people for a going-away party for a friend who is moving away, only to be told they were already closed. When I explained what I had been told on the phone less than 15 minutes earlier, staff said that if we wanted a room, we were supposed to arrive 1.5 hours before closing. That information was never mentioned on the phone. If rooms stop being booked after a certain time, that should be clearly stated when someone calls—especially when you’re telling people you close at 3 AM. We weren’t the only ones. At least three other groups also left upset, saying they were told the same thing: that the place closes at 3 AM, without being told there was a cutoff time to enter."

"The place a nice easy to miss it’s hidden and you go up the stairs to enter. But they have a nice looking bar. I didn’t get any drinks. I went for a 39th bday party, the birthday boy broght catered food in the room so that was nice. i was really annoyed that they didn’t have a lot of songs. Like Ja Rule, mainly the ones he featured in. They didn’t have Cardi be “I like it” so that was disappointing. That’s the only reason why I give it 3 stars because they don’t have certain songs"

"Kareoke Duet 35 is the place to be. This cute karaoke spot located near Koreatown was a great place to spend time with friends! The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The location had a great selection of songs and had new popular songs as-well. The karaoke system overall was great and we were able to find our songs quick! We booked an hour but wanted to stay longer and the staff was able to accommodate to our request! Overall the staff was great and the place was clean affordable and fun!"

"Wow. These are some of the rudest people I’ve ever met in NYC. My friends and I went the other night to do karaoke, as we thought our other friend was already there and we would meet him. The security guard was extremely rude and harsh, immediate telling some of us to dump out our water bottles. We didn’t mind that part, but the way he said it was uncalled for. Then the employees were EXTREMELY (and I can’t stress it enough) hostile and rude as I tried to communicate with them our situation. They repeatedly said our friend wasn’t there, even before I had shown them a photo or given a name. They said there were no more reservations that evening, when they weren’t even supposed to close until 3 hours from our arrival time. It was very, very clear they didn’t want us there. What a shame too because we would’ve given them good business with the large group I was with. The guy working was slightly nicer than the rest, but that girl with blue hair has a real attitude issue. I’m disappointed because a lot of the other reviews of this place seemed wonderful, but I’ve noticed the more recent reviews echo my awful experience. My friends and I will never come back here. I hope management really shapes up the behavior and compassion of their staff members. If you want a nice experience where staff won’t literally roll their eyes at you, I’d recommend 32 Karaoke or Chorus Karaoke!"
