"Icon is my favorite spot in Astoria! Special shoutout to Marcelo who always does the most to make everyone feel welcome! He has an amazing energy and always helps you find a cocktail if you’re unsure of what to drink and always remembers what you had last time ! The drag performances are incredible with one of the best stages and lighting in all of NYC. Be sure to not miss Misty Mountains! Her shows are always unique, eclectic and entertaining, a stand out in the NYC drag scene for sure."

"There are a lot of fun gay bars in Astoria, but I’d have to say that Icon is my favorite. Not only is the drag and overall vibe stellar, but the bartenders really make an effort to build community. Marcelo, among other rockstars, has managed to not just curate a fan club, but also establish a safe space for queer locals to drink, laugh, and support one another. I’m grateful both for the family I have made at this establishment and the staff that made this possible."
