"We went in to buy a baguette, as we do quite often (I have nothing to say about the quality of product, especially their ice cream which is delicious). The lady behind the counter barely said hello to us and wasn’t even listening to our order before she started to make a comment about my husband’s face being red, and then continued to make comment about it even though we were clearly trying to laugh it off and move on and just buy our bread. I understand making small talk in this kind of business is important but making a comment about someone’s appearance and then insisting on it when clearly everyone involved (including your collègues) are not at ease is just a bit strange. I would just be lovely to go and buy good bread without my husband who suffers from a skin condition having comments being made about his appearance!"
