"The Fountain of the Town Hall Square (Fountain de l'Hôtel-de-Ville) is, among the many fountains that dot the city, the most recognizable due to its location. Details: * Location: It is located in the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, the town hall square, a popular and busy spot in the historic center. * History: The fountain was built in 1755. * Features: It is crowned by an ancient Roman column. Originally, the monument bore inscriptions honoring Louis XV. * Surroundings: The surrounding square is known for its cafes and sometimes hosts flower markets. Aix-en-Provence is nicknamed the "city of a thousand fountains" because of the large number of public and private fountains that adorn its streets and squares. (⛲: IA)"

"Aix-en-Provence owes its name to the thermal springs that were discovered by the Romans when the city was founded in 123 BC. The city boasts not only its thermal baths, but also more than 300 days of sunshine per year, its universities, its art schools, and its large student population!"

"Aix Town Hall This square is very lively. There are several cafes and restaurants. There's a fountain in the center of the square. The classic architectural elements are particularly noteworthy. The bell tower houses four statues, each designed to adjust to the seasons. Aix Town Hall is where French marriages are notarized. My instructor and I got married here, officiated by the mayor of Aix! I took some photos of the French wedding scene for everyone to enjoy. As a Gclub member in Aix, France, we can recommend our Hpay community to the town hall! In the future, our membership will become a mainstream group in France! Hpay has a bright future!"
